I know I’ve been really quiet lately. Gosh, quiet is an understatement. I’ve practically been non-existent! I haven’t disappeared. I’m still here. I still love photography, and I have a few amazing shoots lined up and a few new interesting projects I’m working on.

The past few weeks. Two months to be exact, have been really challenging. Physically, emotionally and spiritually. For those of you who don’t know me personally, but follow my updates and blog regularly, I feel I owe you somewhat of an explanation. At the end of March my father suffered a severe stroke. It left him partially paralyzed. Every day thereafter has seen its challenges in more ways than I’d like to recite or even remember. He is well on his way to recovery, and I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how grateful I am for the many people, friends, family and even strangers that have kept my dad and family in their prayers. You are all heaven sent and I have a special place in my heart for you and the love you so freely shared with us.

I decided to take a break from everything. I Initially decided to take two weeks away from emails, facebook, twitter and my blog… even my camera. I felt like I needed to rethink things. Re-evaluate the relationships I have with people and more importantly my purpose (as cliché as that may sound) Truth be told… I didn’t have the energy, or will to pick up my camera. I couldn’t bring myself to shoot other people’s happiness, while I was feeling so unhappy inside. Selfish as that may sound… it’s the truth and it’s the only explanation I have. This two week break turned into a two month sabbatical of sorts. I still don’t have the answers I’m looking for, but my outlook on many things has changed. For the better!

So this weekend I’m going to pick up my camera again. Only this time I’m shooting for myself. For no other reason other than my love for photography, and the people and places I’m blessed to be surrounded by. I know you love seeing the beautiful brides and weddings I shoot. I’ll still be shooting many more weddings this year, and hopefully more, if God so blesses me, in the years to come… but I also feel like I need to try something new. I hope you’ll stay and still visit my blog, and love that as much too.

I also want to take this time out to thank my past season’s clients. You are amazing. For the flowers, emails, calls and just words of encouragement. Your patience and understanding, and your willingness to wait that extra few weeks, for the delivery of your packages (while I spent almost every night at hospital), means more than you know. Your kindness warms my heart.

Which brings me to my next point. And this is less dreary I promise! My WEDDING!!! I can’t believe how time has flown! In 4 short months, I’m going to marry the most amazing man ever! Gosh I’m more excited than I can even explain! I absolutely love planning my wedding. On the 29th September 2012… I become a Mrs! :)
